Thanks for a lovely and inspiring story! We gave a bunch of donations as gifts this year, but your idea clearly sparked memorable conversations and valuable thinking. I'm going to share this idea with some friends and family. So many people are looking for ways to inject more meaning and connection into their holiday traditions.

What a wonderful idea! We did a giving oriented theme in my family this year too - replacing our usual 'everyone draws a name and buys one gift' tradition with a new model where everyone selected a cause to donate to and then simply shared with the group what they had chosen and why.

What I love about this story though is that it clearly inspired even more conversation - by taking advantage of all the amazing causes at globalgiving.org.

Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
